Our lawyers have successfully asserted and defended patent cases in federal courts throughout the country, including before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. In addition, we also appear before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board in post-grant proceedings.

While we may be a boutique in size, our lawyers are routinely adverse to some of the largest law firms in the country.

Complex Commercial Litigation

Our complex commercial litigation practice focuses on matters that involve technology.

We know how to frame difficult issues, explore creative damages models, and most importantly, explain seemingly impenetrable technical concepts in easy to understand language.

Unlike other firms that must partner with technical specialists, we generally staff matters entirely in-house. Our firm takes great pride in learning about our client’s technology and applying that knowledge to our written and oral advocacy.

Intellectual Property Counseling

Villegas & Cefo provides a wide variety of intellectual property services. We represent clients in copyright, trade secret, trademark, and unfair competition litigation. However, we are more than a litigation boutique. We provide IP and technology transactional services, such as patent and trademark prosecution, IP due diligence, licensing and collaboration counseling, and advise clients on privacy and security issues.
